A Sweetheart Table fit for Royalty

The Sefton Wedding Fair 2019

Sweetheart tables are becoming more popular at weddings as couples realise it is a rare opportunity to spend time on their wedding day together, whilst their guests are being wined and dined. Also, as the traditional top table format becomes more complicated with additional step-parents, two or more best men and other extensions, working out table plans is a lot easier if the entire bridal party with the exception of the newlyweds is seated with the rest of the guests.

Sweetheart table name

Our sweetheart table at The Sefton Wedding fair was an opulent design with gold vases and charger plates, a luxurious navy blue velvet and linen table runner. The menu, name place cards and table name were created from luxe navy card with a subtle texture, champagne gold calligraphy and a gold splatter. They were finished as a scroll for a classical Renaissance feel, which leads us to what the newly married couple would be sat on...

wedding thrones

Yes, we sourced and restored and added this beautiful pair of Jacobean style thrones to our hire catalogue, so you really can feel like royalty on your special day! A feature of Jacobean furniture is the ornate detail which is all over these thrones, but our favourite has to be the proud peacocks at the top. The seat and back cushions can also be changed in colour and fabric to suit any theme.

The look for this table was finished with subtle florals in pretty gold vases and beautiful gold candlesticks with navy candles.

As you can see, this style can be adapted for any theme or occasion - perhaps a dinner for two on Valentine's night? Experiment with your table decor, dust off your best plates and glassware and treat yourself to linen napkins and a luxurious tablecloth - create a truly romantic experience with candles and music and even if you haven't got the thrones, you can be sure these little extra finishing touches will make you feel like Kings and Queens in your own home!
